TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP

I hereby apply to the membership of the Minneapolis Professional Employees Association (MPEA) and acknowledge that I understand and agree to the following:

· Membership. Membership in MPEA is voluntary. Because I am free to join or not join the MPEA, by joining I agree to the terms and conditions of membership as established by the Bylaws of MPEA and/or its Executive Board, including but not limited to the conditions specified below.

· Membership Continuous. My membership status will automatically renew from year to year, and I will remain a member of the Association until the earlier of the following: my separation from employment in a job classification represented by the Assocation; or my resignation from the Association.

· Withdrawal. I may withdraw from membership at any time by giving written notice to the Secretary of MPEA, or his/her designee. However, because dues are established in an annual amount, withdrawing from membership after January 1 of any year will not terminate my obligation to pay the annual dues amount.

· Dues. Annual Membership Dues are established from time to time by the Executive Board. The annual dues obligation will be prorated if: a member joins after January 1 of any year; or a member’s membership in MPEA ends after January 1 of any year by reason of separation from a job classification represented by MPEA. However, unless my membership ends due to my separation from a represented job classification, I agree to pay dues for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
